Store reviews are not a backlog. You cannot merge twelve “add dark mode” ratings. You cannot tell those people you shipped.
One Maven artifact. Four steps. First vote on the dashboard before you close Android Studio.
Longer version: How to add an in-app feature board to an Android app.
0. Get a widget ID
- Open feedbackjar.com
- Start the 7-day trial (no card)
- Create a project
- Copy the widget ID
Seed two real requests in the dashboard now.
If you already have the iOS package on this project, reuse that ID.
1. Gradle
// build.gradle.kts (app)
dependencies {
implementation("com.feedbackjar:sdk:1.7.1")
} Maven Central. No extra repo for most projects. The AAR already declares INTERNET.
Min SDK: 21. Current release: 1.7.0.
2. Init once
import com.feedbackjar.sdk.FeedbackJar
class MyApp : Application() {
override fun onCreate() {
super.onCreate()
FeedbackJar.init(this, "your-widget-id")
}
} Register MyApp in the manifest if it is not already.
3. One screen
Views:
startActivity(FeedbackJarActivity.intent(this)) Compose (only if the app already uses Compose):
FeedbackJarBoard(accentColor = Color(0xFFE5484D)) Settings row, not a fourth tab:
row.setOnClickListener {
startActivity(FeedbackJarActivity.intent(this))
} Label it “Feature requests.”
4. First vote in the dashboard
- Run an emulator
- Open Settings → Feature requests
- Submit “test from emulator”
- Refresh the FeedbackJar dashboard
- Confirm Android version, model, app version on the post
After login (optional)
FeedbackJar.setIdentity(name = user.name, email = user.email) Logout:
FeedbackJar.clearIdentity() Checklist
- Trial + widget ID
-
com.feedbackjar:sdk:1.7.1 -
FeedbackJar.initinApplication - Settings row → Activity or
FeedbackJarBoard() - Two seed posts
- One submit visible in the dashboard
Start the 7-day trial. No card. Same widget ID works on iOS.
